Planning for Achieving Your Life Goals

The Dream Book
Ameriprise Financial has a promotional book called “The Dream Book” available as a free download on their site. It addresses how you live and enjoy your life during retirement, the part of retirement planning that we tend to overlook because the financial part seems so important. The booklet is basically a series of questions that help you to focus on your hopes and dreams that you’ve got for your lifetime. What places do you want to visit? What experiences will make you feel like you’ve lead a fulfilled life?

Visit the Ameriprise Financial site for The Dream Book. When you visit the site, unfortunately they require some personal information from you including your phone number and a time they can call you. Although the information is required, you can enter anything you want. They will automatically sign you up for marketing email if you use your primary email address. Should you just make up a some fictional info for them? That’s up to you.

(Talking Retirement is not affiliated with Ameriprise Financial and I’m not endorsing them for your financial needs. I have no experiece with them beyond this book.)

It’s Funny Because It’s True

New Yorker Cartoon
A friend of mine pointed out a great cartoon from the New Yorker this week. It’s the January 16 issue. You can visit their site here.

If you like this one, you might also enjoy visiting the Cartoon Bank and entering retirement in the search field for more cartoons from old issues of the magazine. You can even purchase reprints there.

He’s on to something. Writing your personal history is a great idea. Imagine your offspring reading your stories several generations from now. Where were you during the big events of our time? What were your reactions? Having a hobby to record your history could be beneficial for not only yourself, but for many others.
