Gay Retirement Community Moving Ahead

We’ve talked about retirement communities for gays and lesbians before, but the efforts in seem to be making strides. In Palm Springs there are now plans for three different developments now, according to The Desert Sun.

Now, a renewed attempt is taking place, by not just one company, but three. Olivia, a company known for its lesbian cruises, wants to make its first foray into residential development with a gay retirement community in Palm Springs or Cathedral City.

The Gay and Lesbian Association of Retiring Persons is also looking at several parcels of land in Palm Springs. And RainbowVision, which just opened a gay retirement community in Santa Fe, is also checking out land in Palm Springs. No one has entered escrow or filed plans with the city yet.
